Aloe vera for internal or external use, wounds and digestion

Hilton Herbs ALOE VERA for Pets can be administered orally or applied to the skin. Aloe vera juice is traditionally used in herbal medicine for its beneficial action on digestion and wound healing.

External use:

  • Liquid aloe vera is an excellent base for gels and sprays, simply by adding plant dyes or essential oils.
  • Aloe vera can be used to soothe superficial wounds: scratches, small cuts, stings, symptoms of dermatitis, etc.

Internal use:

  • Aloe vera juice is often recommended for digestive problems.
It is often used in herbal medicine to help horses suffering from gastric ulcers.
  • Aloe vera extract is liquid and can be applied to the skin or ingested.

This liquid is twice as concentrated as aloe vera leaf juice. For more information, see the Ingredients tab.

Ingredients:

Aloe Vera Extract 2:1
Aloe vera extract 2:1 is obtained from aloe vera 10:1. The aloe vera leaves are cut and washed to remove the aloin. They are then crushed and the pulp and fibres are removed. After a quick pasteurization, the aloe vera juice is concentrated by reverse osmosis. This results in a 10:1 aloe vera gel (10 parts fresh plant = 1 part gel) and the pH is adjusted. A dilution produces a 2:1 extract, which is twice as concentrated as fresh aloe vera juice (2 volumes fresh plant = 1 volume extract).
ALOE VERA can be added to the daily ration and, when possible, administered twice. The gel can also be used externally.

Recommendations:

  • Horses and ponies: According to the veterinarian's advice, 50 to 120 ml per day.
  • Dogs: Up to 25 kg, 2.5 to 5 ml daily. Over 25 kg, 5 ml daily, increasing to 10 ml.
  • Cats (average weight 4 kg): 10 to 15 drops twice daily (1 ml = 20 drops).

Note: Aloe vera can have a laxative effect, so start with a low dose and increase gradually, or ask your vet for advice.
